Cake Pan Prep by Nekko:

Welcome back to ‘The Bakes of Grace Blog”, today I will teach you how I prep my cake pans! The recipe that I am using is the “Vanilla Cake Recipe”.
What you’ll need:
- Parchment Paper cut to the size of your pans
- Softened Butter: I typically will use about 2 tbsp of butter
Instructions:
Step 1: Cut out pieces of parchment paper to the size of your pans and place them in the pan. They may lift, if they do you can place a little bit of water underneath the parchment paper. But, as you move on to step 2, the butter will help keep the parchment paper in place.
Step 2: Apply the softened butter to the sides of the pan. I find it easiest to use my fingers.

*Tip: Use a scale to measure the batter in your cake pans for even baking! I can get lazy sometimes and not use my scale but I usually regret it because then I have to take out all of my cake layers at separate times.

*Note: If your cake recipe is very buttery, you may have some sticking. I can tell if the cake is sticking by slightly shaking the pan. If the cake moves and looks like it will glide out then I will flip the pan upside down to release the cake. If the cake doesn’t move then I will take a butter knife and gently move it around the sides of the cake and then proceed to removing the cake layer.
